Once Upon A Winter is a solo project from Thessaloniki, Greece. While Post-Rock is the main core, elements of blackgaze, metal and progressive rock further enrich the sound.  Created by Ilias Kakanis in 2012, Once Upon A Winter released their third album, “Pain And Other Pleasures” through Finnish label Snow Wave Records on September 20th.
The opening track sets the mood for the entire album: mystical and nostalgic, it gives out the feeling of yearning and emptiness. All of the musical instruments have a very powerful sound to them while the music also gets very progressive at times. Elements of goth, post rock and shoegaze are also a very huge part of the songs.
